“Miaomiao enjoyed seafood like most cats do. One time Shin and I had a can of escargots (snails) for dinner. Miaomiao took a sniff of the leftover juice in it when we were about to toss the can. He then began to chase and scream at us to ask for the juice. That was the most fierce meow sound I've ever heard from him. Miaomiao had kidney disease, so he was on a special diet towards the second half of his short life. Hopefully, Pet Heaven would supply him with endless seafood.

I remember I brought home a croissant, put it on the table, went downstairs to grab something else, came back home less than five minutes later, and found my croissant gone. Its empty bag lay right next to Kuli, who was licking the floor and his mouth with much content. “ —Phoebe

“Kuli’s three favorite phrases included ‘let’s go,’ ‘treats,’ and ‘sweet potato.’ My family needed to be careful when using these phrases in our conversations because Kuli would come immediately and look at us with his hopeful eyes. Sometimes, Kuli would even bring his own clothes and leash when he wanted to go out. He would even try to put them on by himself.

Kuli could look very different depending on his grooming (from looking like a bear to looking like a deer). I remember I couldn’t find him at the groomer’s after they had shaved all his fluffy fur for the first time. I even thought to myself, ‘Why is this skinny dog staring at me as if he knows me?’. When I called Kuli, the skinny dog ran to me.

After Kuli passed away unexpectedly from a car accident, I felt so guilty that I didn’t get to keep him company for a very long time. I then understood how he felt when he was waiting for me to come home. I am very thankful that Kuli came to my life and shared his unconditional love with my family and me. I hope Kuli be well in Pet Heaven and enjoys playing with other lovely friends (while eating lots of sweet potatoes). “ —Shin
