Delilah, Etta, & Cocoa

“Dear Delilah,
We saw you through a plexiglass window and from the moment we locked eyes, I knew our lives would be forever changed. You were ours before we even knew. Mommy picked out a name after hearing ‘Hey There Delilah’ by the Plain White T’s on the radio. She loved that name and saved the name for someone special and that little someone was you. You stood at a foot and half, perched bunny-like ears and brown eyes that I always knew lived many lives before. You taught us so many things. You taught us how to love, to live life fully and wholly, to enjoy the little moments and when it was your time, you taught us how to let something we loved deeply go. Our hearts ache, the house is too quiet without your little snorts and farts but we know you will always be with us. We love you Delilah. Until we meet again. ❤️🌈” —Alyssa

“Etta was an older cat, who came to us as a rescue; her previous owner was elderly and had recently passed away. For some reason, I was not allergic to her, so we called her our ‘miracle cat’. Etta loved the freezer, and she liked having ice cubes in her water; we thought, because she was black and white, she might have been part penguin! She was a friendly girl, and could definitely hold up her end of a conversation. She loved watching Baseball games with us in the evenings. (Go Washington Nationals!). From her favorite perch on the back of the couch, she kept tabs on the neighbors and on her two humans. Even though it has been several years since we had to put her down (kidney failure), we still miss her.” —Ellen and Bill Cabrera

“Cocoa was a brown mini Pinscher. Her favorite toy was a pink ball. Every time when we throw the pink ball into water, she will get the ball back and pass to us. We treat her as one of our family member rather than just a pet. We will bring her together when we go out, and she was always staying beside me whenever I am watching tv or sleeping. We want to tell Cocoa that ‘Papa, Mama and Sis loves you so much and thank you for staying with us for 14 years! you're the most prettiest and cutest girl in the world!’ :)” —Maxine
