Zippers & Tails

Left to right : Zippers and Tails came to Rainbow Bridge on 10/6/2020 and 6/20/2013, respectively.

🐾

Zippers was an incredibly special little fat cat. He was a broken mackerel colored tabby who had been rescued from a dog fighting ring. Zippers, lovingly called Z, had bright green eyes with a dark brown/light red pattern in his right eye from traumatic damage. Z was the thing that helped me get my life together after I ran away from an abusive relationship. I was living in my car using opiates with him living in the car with me. He was leash trained and loved being chest wrapped like a baby. I stopped using as hard so I could buy him food. Eventually I met the man I ended up marrying and Zippers loved him almost more than I did. Zippers lived with us through several moves, tough times, getting our own home, getting 2 dogs who he actually really loved, seeing his first Christmas tree, going on adventures, fighting racoons that broke into our house, learning to potty on the toilet, learning to meow, and having the most fulfilled happy life, especially now that I have been sober. Zippers had a painful decline after breaking his leg and having it amputated, but he was the cutest little tripod you ever did see. Sending him across the rainbow bridge was the hardest thing I've done as a pet parent. Making that decision haunted me, and still hurts to this day. I was blessed by my friends who supported us financially to have the surgery and ultimately the final appointment/cremation/paw print/urn/etc. He was so loved, by people all across the country. Rest in peace our sweetest Z. We love you always, Zippers Florien Bellinger Faber.

He was a black lab/Samoyed mix. And he was the best boy in the world. My absolute best friend. I didn’t have the best home life and tails always tried to protect me the best way he knew how. He wasn’t allowed upstairs or in my room, but he’d sneak up there anyway and he’d move my pillows so I could sleep on him. He died when I was 13. My parents took him away from me when I was 12 and I never got to say goodbye and I just really hope he knows how much I love him and how good of a boy he really was.
